Student Info

Hello class, my name is Joe D’Annunzio and I am currently in my second year of school at Ramapo. I am on track to graduate in the spring of 2015 if all continues to go as planned. Currently I am one of many that is similarly unemployed. After gradation, being an accounting major I am hopeful I will be hired as an accountant and be able to work with them as I study and take the different parts of the CPA exam, certified public accountant. I would like to work as a CPA as my occupation for as long as possible and have a successful career that may lead to opening my own accounting firm.  Outside of school I like to do pretty much anything that will keep me outside. Most summers I spend at the beach, where my entire family has owned a house for my whole life. Unfortunately this fall we were one of many that had our house flooded by Hurricane Sandy. Luckily we only had three feet of water on the first floor, but being on the bay and not the ocean saved our house from complete devastation like so many others.  I have been unable to stay at our house thus far because the contractors are constantly working to redo the entire first floor, including walls, floors, electrical, appliances, not to mention all the lost furniture.  I also love to play golf, which I try to a few times a week. I spend as a lot of time fishing as well with my brother and friends. Whether we end up at the small pond in our town or are on boat 10 miles out in the ocean deep sea fishing, I enjoy it . Without a strict schedule time I have time to create my own class schedule and can fit my schoolwork in the day at anytime, which can change from day to day depending on what I have to do that particular day. Also I know that there are definitely people in the world who are much more suited working from somewhere they are confortable and feel at home, and distance learning formats let the student do that, and I am definitely one of those people. Being home I feel like my thoughts and ideas flow more easily because I am more relaxed and free thinking somewhere I am more confortable than a classroom setting.

This post is adding onto my first post to finish the things I missed. I own my own Macbook Pro with OS X, but unfortunately I do not have the capability to use windows. I can update the software on my computer at anytime needed, it is my personal laptop.   I have Office 2011. I have a Facebook account, which I check periodically, but I do not post daily, and tend not to use it to often. It goes to say I am not very into social networking but do understand the impact it plays in todays society. I do check and use my email regularly and am always up to date on there. I have taken a Social Issues class online in the past in enjoyed it, so I am somewhat familiar with the way moodle works.
